About Dining Trains at on the South Devon Railway.
In 1879 the first Restaurant Car was introduced in the UK. Since then, on-train catering has become an experience to savour, rather than a convenient bite to eat! We are pleased to team up with our friends at The Plot Catering Co. to offer our popular on-train dining experiences.
Meals are freshly prepared on board by our passionate team. At the heart of our culinary philosophy lies the belief that there is no substitute for the taste of home-grown fruits and vegetables. If we are unable to grow it ourselves, our commitment to using fresh, locally-sourced, and sustainable produce remains unwavering. We have forged strong partnerships with numerous local suppliers throughout Devon.
