The South Devon Diesel Traction group based on the South Devon Railway have purchased Crompton diesel 33 002 to add to their fleet. The loco, originally D6501 is the oldest surviving Crompton, having been delivered new to Hither Green Depot in 1959. The locomotive was in working order when put into store a few years ago and is expected to able to be recommissioned fairly easily. Presently it bears a very faded 'Dutch' livery and will need a complete repaint and some bodywork. It arrived at Buckfastleigh on January 25th. More information and pictures of the locomotive can be found by clicking on the link below.
